Promote - Promotions
You might have a promotion that only runs for a week or every Thursday - use this guide to better understand the validity tab in Promotions.
First let's define validity and exceptions periods
Time Periods Definition | ||
Type | Definition | Example |
Advertisement Period | When the promotion is visible | I want my Valentine's Day promotion to show from the 1st of Feb |
Validity Period | The date(s)/Time(s) the promotion is valid | I want my Valentine's Day promotion to be only bookable on the 14th of Feb |
Exception Period | The date(s)/Time(s) the promotion is NOT valid | I want my Valentine's Day promotion to NOT be bookable at 7pm only |
Validity Period the Date Promotion is Available
Validity Period is located under the Validity Tab:
The Create Validity Screen:
Exception Date/Day the Promotion is NOT Valid
For example, say you have a March 2 for 1 promotion running but you DO NOT want it to run on Mother's Day - you can use exception dates for this purpose.
Create Exception Period View:
NOTE: The Annual Repeat tick box means that EVERY YEAR these dates will NOT be included in the promotion
Pros: Good for a holiday that is the same date (i.e. Valentines, Christmas, St Patrick's Day, Burn's Night)
Cons: Not so good for ones that are not the same date every year (i.e. Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day)
