The ‘Book Now’ button provides an easy way for your customers to reserve a table at your restaurant and bring the most important objective of your Facebook page to the most obvious place.

We recommend adding a facebook specific widget to your facebook page. This will mean that anyone that makes a reservation specifically from this widget will be tagged with the channel of Facebook.

This means you can quickly quantify where your bookings are coming from.

I’ve added 5 easy steps below to add a link from your Facebook page to your ResDiary listing:

1) To get your ResDiary listing click on Promote>Online Facilities>Widget Configurator >  create new theme > make sure the channel is set to FACEBOOK.

Please see a full guide here on how you can customise your widget style/branding by clicking here here should you wish to.

If you have an existing widget already built, got to Promote>Online Facilities>Widget Configurator and then (on the correct widget) click on 'Get Embed Code':

For Facebook, you only need the URL (not the full code). See example below:

2) Log in to your Facebook business page as an administrator

3) To add an action button to your page:

      - From your News Feed, click Pages in the left menu (see icons below)

  - Go to your page

4) Click '+ Add a Button' below your Page's cover photo.

5) Choose ‘Contact Us’ as your call to action and paste the destination URL that you’ve already copied from step one (the link above for your Facebook widget) and then follow the on-screen instructions.

And that’s it! Your booking widget now installed!

If you are having difficulties adding the widget, you can just try adding the microsite URL, although we do strongly recommend using a widget (via Promote>Venue>Venue and Microsite Details and copy and paste the microsite URL) - we recommend adding '#booking' to allow the microsite link to default to the availability search. Either the widget or microsite URLs should work fine (the difference being that the Facebook widget will track all the bookings made via this new Facebook channel, whereas the microsite URL will simply send customers to your website to book).
