The customer contact section of ResDiary provides all the tools to prepare an email or SMS marketing campaign. When scheduling a campaign you can identify your preferred audience via the manage marketing list option. 


Before creating a marketing list check your marketing opt-in preferences to ensure you target the correct audience. To check this click here and under opt-in levels.

Customer Contact - Manage Marketing List (Beta Version)


To create a marketing list go to promote - customer contact - manage marketing list (beta version):


  • Create marketing list
  • List name - enter a name (the customer will not see this)
  • List type - select email or SMS (you need to sign up for SMS integration as this is an add-on to a diary. More information can be found here)
  • List date - this is an optional filter, you can filter customers by the date they booked or visited or keep as all dates.
  • List description - enter a description (the customer will not see this)
  • Venue level opt-in - here is where you select what you have ticked in your privacy settings, if you want to target customers who have opted into venue level tick individual venue level.
  • Include customers that DON'T comply with EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)This option allows you to decide to continue marketing to customers who opted into marketing BEFORE the EU/UK GDPR legislation came into effect. As the Data Controller of this data, it is your organisation’s responsibility to ensure that you only market to customers where their data was obtained and remains in compliance with your local data protection legislation and where you have the records to evidence it.  Penalties for marketing to customers where you cannot evidence when they opted in to your marketing can result in a regulatory fine of up to 4% of your turnover. Useful advice can be found here but we recommend you clear this with legal counsel before using. 
  • Filters - If you wish to filter customers you can continue to select any combination from the list and click 'add'
  • Press update to create the marketing list, the list will be created immediately




Once created you can edit the list, delete the list or export the list using the icons as shown below:
