What is Access Identity?
Access Identity—is our new authentication system designed to offer improved security, better usability, and enhanced access control.
What does it mean for ResDiary Customers?
As part of this migration, we will ask you to reset your password and confirm that your email is valid and accessible. This quick and simple step will help us ensure that all users have a secure and verified account moving forward.
What should I do before migrating my user to ensure continued access to my diary?
To successfully migrate, users must have access to a valid email address. If the email currently associated with your ResDiary account is invalid or you cannot access the inbox, you will need to either regain access to that mailbox or create a new user account using a valid email address. To create a new user, navigate to Settings > Users > Create New User within your account settings.
What are the steps that I need to follow in order to set up my Access Identity?
When you come to login on the usual login screen, you will see a prompt to begin migrating your user over to Access Identity. Click on this prompt and then follow the simple step-by-step process.
- Verify Email Access – A verification code will be sent to the email address associated with your account, which must be entered to proceed.
- Reset Password – Users will be prompted to create a new, secure password.
- Set a User PIN – As a final step, users will need to set a User PIN in our product. This PIN is used for 'override' features within our system and integrates with our role-based permissions framework.
- NOTE: At present this can be skipped if required and you can still login to your diary with your existing credentials. However, we will be looking to make this manditory in due course.
Will this change impact my current integrations with third-party software?
No, Access Identity only affects your login credentials for ResDiary and other products that are part of The Access Group. It should not interfere with third-party integrations. However, if your integrations rely on specific login credentials, you may need to update your authentication details accordingly. If you experience issues, please consult your IT team or ResDiary Customer Support.
Can I delay my migration to Access Identity if I need more time?
Yes, you can skip the migration and continue to login with your old credentials. However, we will be looking to make this manditory in due course.
Will my existing permissions and roles be retained after migration?
Yes, user roles and permissions within ResDiary will remain unchanged after migrating to Access Identity.
What if I forget my Access Identity password?
You can reset your password by clicking the “Forgot Password” link on the login page. An email will be sent to your registered email address with instructions on how to reset your password. Please ensure you have access to this inbox.
Can I use the same password as before?
Yes, you can reuse your previous password if it meets Access Identity’s security requirements. However, for security reasons, it is recommended that you create a new, strong password.
How do I update my recovery email for password resets?
You can update your recovery email within your Access Identity profile settings. If you no longer have access to your original recovery email, you may need to contact customer support for assistance.
