After you have migrated your ResDiary login to Access, you can manage you account and add additional steps to make your account even more secure. Adding two-factor authentication (2FA) to your account enhances security by requiring a second step to verify your identity. Follow the steps to get started or watch the video.



Step 1: Access the 2FA Setup Page


Go to this site and click Get started with two-factor authentication. You will see three options:


  • FIDO2 or U2F authenticator – Use your fingerprint or biometric features if your device supports them.
  • Receive a text – Enter your phone number to receive a code via SMS.
  • Use an authenticator app – Use an authentication app on your mobile device.


Choose the method you prefer, then follow the instructions below for your selected option.



Option 1: FIDO2 or U2F Authenticator


If your PC has a built-in fingerprint scanner or biometric feature, follow these steps:


  • Click Add authenticator, then enter a name for your device.
  • Click Add, then follow the on-screen instructions to enter your PC PIN or fingerprint.


Option 2: Receive a Text Message


If you want to receive a verification code via SMS:


  1. Click Add mobile phone, then enter your phone number.
  2. Click Send Code and wait a few seconds for the code to arrive.
  3. Enter the code you received, then click Verify.
  4. Save your backup codes in a secure location.
  5. Check the box for I understand the use of backup codes.
  6. Click Enable two-factor authentication.

Option 3: Use an Authenticator App


If you don’t have an authenticator app yet, download one of the following:



Once you have the app:


  1. Click Add authenticator app, then follow the on-screen instructions.
  2. Enter the code generated by the app, then click Verify.
