Setting the duration that you give each party size is essential to getting the best use of your tables when you have high demand and increases the pace of service to ensure higher turn over.
With ResDiary you can vary your booking duration via any combination of the following:
- Service
- Party Size
- Day of Week
- Time of Day
- Unique Date Range
How to Manage Average Time Rules
- Settings
- Services
- Click on the edit button of the service you require to update
- Click on the Average Time Rules Tab at the top
- Select the Add button or edit the current rule and this will show this:
Conditions Explanation
Covers:
Explanation: If you want to set particular rules for certain party sizes you can enter the range here.
Example: You want bookings of 10+ to get 2 hours
Method: Tick covers and enter 10 to (blank) then Average Time field enter in your time in minutes. See example below:
Applicable on:
Explanation: If you want a certain day or dates the rule to apply on.
Example: On Valentine's Day you want to give 2 hours to all bookings
Method: Tick Applicable on and click on the start and end date box to bring up a calendar so you can enter the start date to end date you want to apply this rule to then in the Average Time field enter in your time in minutes.
Times:
Explanation: If you want a certain time of day the rule to apply on.
Example: Between 7-7.30pm you want to only give diners 90 minutes
Method: Tick Times and enter the start time to end time then in the Average Time field enter in your time in minutes.
Tip: These conditions can be mixed and matched i.e 10+ pax (covers), between 01/12 - 15/12/ on Mondays (applicable on), between 18:00 - 21:00 (Times)
