The cross sell widget has been developed to capture guests preferred booking date, size and time and to redirect them to another one of your venues should the original venue no longer have any availability.
This feature is available for venues that have 2 or more diaries, that are connected via our group central reservations add on.
If you have this add on, then you'll be able to access your multiple diaries from the same login by clicking on your diary name, and a list of all of your other diaries should display.
Please see an overview of the guest journey on the cross sell widget below:

To set up your own cross sell widget, please follow the below steps
1. Promote > Online facilities >Widget Configurator > Create New theme > select the cross sell option.
2. Give the widget a clear name so you can identify it later
3. Choose a channel to associate with this widget so you can identify bookings made specifically through this widget. You are welcome to create a new custom channel to assign to this widget if you wish to by following this guide.
4. You can then customise your widget as your normally would, by choosing your own hex code branding colours and custom contact details settings
5. Under the last tab, 'cross sell other venues', choose the venues that you specifically like to cross sell your customers to in the event the original venue is not available for the guests chosen date, time and party size.
Select a venue from the drop down and click add.
Please note, venues will display and be offered to your guests in the same order with which you add the venues from this section.
Please also note that the maximum amount of venues that can be chosen to be cross sold is 30.
6. Once you have finished, click continue. You will then see your widget preview in our standard, optimized style. This is the only style of cross sell widget available.
On this screen, you will also be presented with your 3 embed options:
- ''Embedded''. This is your widget built into a jquery embed code, which you can copy and paste on to your website.
- ''Iframe''. This is your widget built into an iframe code, which you can copy and paste on to your website.
- ''Direct link''. This is simply a direct link to your widget.
7. Add the code to your website and you're done!
Please see a video set up guide below:

You can create as many cross sell widgets as you like to manage which venues are getting cross sold. For example, you may want to group your venues together by location and have one cross sell widget for your venues in Glasgow, another cross sell widget for London ect.
Just be mindful to give every widget an obvious name, and a different channel code per widget so you can track the bookings made via each individual widget you create.
Please note, the following are not supported on the cross sell widget:
- Custom success landing pages
- custom logo addition
- The online standby list
- Area dropdown, service names within your timeslots, and child and infant options
- the online standby list
