Resdiary has launched a new, data privacy compliant Soft Opt-In Marketing option to the widget. If enabled, this means that any opt in opportunities on your booking widget will be pre ticked, and the customer would need to untick this option to opt out, rather than opt in. 


Please note, following advice from the ICO, only venue level opt in will be pre ticked under this soft opt in functionality. 

Customers will still need to manually opt in to group level marketing opportunities on your booking widget. 


If you would like to review the opt in levels you offer customers as a business, or alter these, you can do so following this guide. Please note, any opt in level changes are group wide and will impact all of your linked diaries. 


To enable this setting, please follow the below steps: 


1 - In the top navigation bar, click Promote > Online Facilities > Widget Configurator
2 - Existing Widget: Click the edit icon behind the widget you wish to update


3- Scroll down to Contact Details Settings > Click the box Enable Email Soft Opt-in

4 - Click Continue. If this widget is already published on your website it will automatically update.
